2 Mobile Marketing channels and techniques

With the continued rise of mobile phones, mobile marketing is becoming especially important to a product or company’s success. The use of in-app display media adverts can be used within apps to display banner ads and/or pop ups to the user which can directly link to an App Store so that the app can be downloaded. As these appear in apps themselves, it’s more than likely the user you are advertising to regularly plays mobile games/uses mobile apps and so they are already falling in line with your targeted group. Having things like video ads within apps such as YouTube will help visualise the product you are trying to sell, and you can set the as length and whether it is skippable or not. Non-skippable ads can be pesky and annoy the viewer, which is something I often complain about myself while watching YouTube. Additionally, paying for a sponsored segment in a YouTube video is highly effective for getting your target demographic interested in your product as seeing the YouTuber promote it will enhance trust that it’s worthwhile. Another mobile marketing technique is the use of coupons and QR codes which can be directly implemented into a game or app to give a reward/bonus to people who do something particular within the app. Making the user go out of their way to do something within the app and getting a reward such as a discount for one of your other products will entice them to keep engaging with it. The use of scanning QR codes to give rewards to people is also a good way to encourage people to engage with the product in more ways than they usually would.
